4-day tour
DAY 1:
Arrival in Fes.
- Pick-up at the airport and transfer to the accommodation (depending on the time, we can visit the area near the accommodation).
DAY 2:
Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga:
- We will depart at 8:00 a.m. towards the Erg Chebbi desert. During the journey, we will stop in the city of Ifrane, located in the Middle Atlas and known as the “Little Switzerland” for the architecture of its buildings. It is an important ski centre during the winter months.
- Next, we will stop at the cedar forest of Azrou, a protected natural area where a large colony of monkeys (Macaca Sylvanus) lives.
- Midway, we will stop in Midelt, founded by the French in 1917, which currently thrives on fruit agriculture such as apples, which are the symbol of the city.
- Finally, we will head to the town of Merzouga to spend the night in our accommodation.
DAY 3:
Merzouga – Er Rissani – Erg Chebbi:
- After breakfast, we will start the day walking on the sand of the Moroccan Sahara Desert.
- We will head to the small village of Khamlia to listen to traditional Gnawa music while having some tea.
- Then we will go to the city of Er Rissani to visit its Zouk, full of small shops selling food, clothes, household items, and anything that can be traded.
- We will visit the different areas while immersing ourselves in the smells, sounds, and constant rhythm of such a crowded and representative space of this area. In the afternoon, we can enjoy a walk on the sand with a camel ride, quad biking, 4×4, or walking.
- We will be able to contemplate the sunset and sleep in a typical Khaima while listening to the traditional sound of drums.
DAY 4:
Erg Chebbi – Ziz Valley – Fes:
- We will wake up early to see the sunrise and start our journey back to Fes from Merzouga.
- On the way to Fes, we will stop at the Ziz Valley to see the panoramic view of the great palm grove that follows the river.
- In the afternoon, we will arrive at the Fes airport, marking the end of the tour.
*Included: airport transfers, private vehicle with driver and guide, accommodation with breakfast and dinner (except in Fes), and guided tours with explanation.
*Not included: lunches, admission fees to museums and other paid tourist attractions. Dinner in Fes.
*During midday, you will have enough time to have lunch wherever you like and take some rest.
